Dear Supporters,
I wanted to send a follow up note thanking you for your donation to my upcoming YWAM Discipleship Training School. It has been through generous donors like you that I have been able to make significant progress towards my fundraising goal. At the time of writing this, my trip is about 80% funded, which is incredible. It means the world to me to have such an amazing support network behind me.
In addition to my gratitude, I wanted to share some updates from the last month or so as well. Shortly after I made my first fundraising push, I received a phone call with some bad news. The YWAM Yosemite base didn’t get enough students in time, so they were forced to cancel their Summer 2022 DTS. I was devastated. I had been preparing for months to go to Yosemite, and this felt like a major setback just weeks before I was supposed to depart. Not only was it extremely frustrating, but I was also bummed that I would not be able to go to such a cool place as Yosemite. However, the good news was that there were other options out there.
While there are hundreds of YWAM bases around the world, I was pointed in the direction of two: Cascade, Idaho and Lakeside, Montana. Both of these bases are very similar to Yosemite as they are geared toward a backpacking outreach in the Himalayas which I wanted to do since that was my original calling. It felt like both bases were great options which made it almost impossible to choose. I think what made it so hard was the fact that I was heavily seeking the Lord’s guidance on the situation, yet not feeling like I was receiving a clear response one way or the other.
While God didn’t make it clear for a while, He did eventually make it clear in a sequence of events that I feel He orchestrated in His own timing. After weeks of phone calls, heavy contemplation, and non-stop prayers, I ultimately decided to go with YWAM Montana. Besides the new base, everything else is still the same. My calling is still to take the Gospel to the outreached people of the Himalayas.
Anyways, I just wanted to share that update on the small change in plans in the grand scheme of things. This will be the last letter I send, so if you want more updates like this, I encourage you to head to my website (jacobfrenzenywam.com), navigate to the “Stay Connected” tab, and subscribe to my YWAM newsletter. It is my goal to regularly send out updates on how things are going and share cool things that God is doing on this journey.
Thank you once again for your generosity, support, and prayers over the last few months. I can’t wait to see how God uses your gift to bless His kingdom.
Forever in gratitude,
Jacob Frenzen
